Copy Edit School is a 4-week course. From October 31, 2018 – November 21, 2018, we meet every Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. EST.

 

It costs $399 USD. This price is for the inaugural cycle. The next time I offer Copy Edit School, it will cost $599 USD.

 

It’s only open to 5 students. That’s right. I’m keeping enrollment low, so you get more individualized attention.

Here’s how my formula works…

Think of copy editing like emptying your Halloween candy bag when you get home from trick-or-treating.

First, you dump it on the table. (That’s brain-dumping your thoughts onto paper.)

*You’re not learning how to brain-dump. You already know how to do that.*

Second, you check it for damaged candy and throw those pieces away. (That’s editing for clarity.)

Third, you take out the pieces you don’t like to eat. (That’s editing to make your writing concise.)

And fourth, you trade the candy you don’t like with candy from your siblings or friends and add those pieces back into your pile. (That’s editing where you add words back into your copy to make your writing compelling.)
